AQ Governance Evidence Assessment¶
Move AI governance from assertion to evidence.¶
Autonomous systems are moving faster than traditional governance can verify. Policies, audits, and human-in-the-loop approvals may show intent, but they often fail to prove whether governance is actually operating at runtime.
The AQ Governance Evidence Assessment helps organizations determine whether an AI agent, autonomous workflow, or cyber-physical system can produce verifiable evidence of governance quality.
Can your system prove it was governed?
The problem¶
Most AI governance programs rely on documentation, policy statements, questionnaires, and point-in-time reviews. As AI agents and autonomous systems begin taking action, that is no longer enough.
Organizations now have to answer harder questions:
- Was the system governed before it acted?
- Who or what approved the action?
- Was the governance authority separate from the system being governed?
- Can the evidence be trusted?
- Can the decision be traced, audited, and defended?
- Is the organization reducing risk, or simply documenting intent?
Traditional audits are snapshots. Autonomous systems need evidence that governance is operating as they act.
What AQ Score measures¶
AQ Score is the governance-quality signal for autonomous systems: a scale that moves from circular self-oversight (AI scoring AI) to independent, attested, and isolated governance.
It measures governance from evidence, not assertion.
AQ Score is being built to help organizations, insurers, regulators, investors, and enterprise buyers evaluate autonomous-system governance using verifiable evidence rather than self-attestation.
The assessment evaluates whether your system can produce credible governance evidence across key areas:
- Runtime Governance: are policies, permissions, and authority boundaries enforced when the system acts?
- Independence: is the governance authority structurally separate from the system being measured?
- Attestation: can actions, approvals, and exceptions be proven through tamper-evident records?
- Traceability: can decisions be traced from policy to authorization to execution?
- Oversight: are human review and escalation meaningful, or merely symbolic?
- Evidence Integrity: can governance evidence be trusted, reproduced, and defended?
- Risk Translation: can governance quality support risk reduction, acceptance, procurement, diligence, or insurance-readiness?
What you receive¶
An executive-ready report designed for leadership, customers, investors, auditors, insurers, and enterprise buyers.
- Governance Evidence Position: where your evidence stands against the AQ Score criteria, area by area.
- Governance Evidence Gap Analysis: missing, weak, circular, or unverifiable governance evidence.
- Attestation Readiness Review: whether system activity, approvals, controls, and exceptions can be proven.
- Risk & Defensibility Findings: key issues affecting trust, auditability, defensibility, and risk posture.
- 90-Day Improvement Roadmap: practical next steps to strengthen governance evidence and readiness.
Readiness preparation and independent scoring are separate functions. This engagement is the first. It does not issue an AQ Score.
Who it's for¶
Organizations building, deploying, funding, insuring, or evaluating:
AI agents, autonomous workflows, AI-enabled SaaS, cybersecurity automation, drone / robotics / physical-domain sensing, high-risk AI or decision-support systems, enterprise AI governance programs, and AI startups preparing for enterprise sales, diligence, or investor review.
Why it matters. Boards, insurers, regulators, investors, and enterprise buyers are moving toward one unavoidable question: Can this autonomous system prove it is governed?
A policy says what should happen. An audit says what appeared true at one point in time. An attestation proves what happened.
The AQ difference: most governance programs ask "Do controls exist?" AQ asks "Can governance be independently measured from verifiable evidence?" That distinction matters because autonomous systems create risk faster than traditional oversight can review. The future of AI governance is not only policy. It is governance, attestation, and measurement.

Can your system prove it was governed?
AQ Score is being built as the measurement standard for AI runtime governance posture: an instrument that structurally separates the scorer from the scored, designed to evaluate governance quality from verifiable evidence rather than self-attestation, for use in due diligence, audit, and risk assessment.
